The Waiting Game...

Will today be the day? Whitney could actually deliver any time now and I have had myself on cria watch for what seems like forever! It started in January in anticipation of Clara's cria. Both ladies had (have) February "due dates" but both delivered their previous cria early.

My hunch was correct with Clara - "Due" on February 8th, Nottingham Hollow's Lord Darby made his appearance on January 26th. Two weeks early. He was on the small side but easily doubled his weight the first month and happily romps the pastures with his buddy Dougal. It is heartwarming and comical watching the two of them race around, very often encouraging Black Velvet and Lady Emma to stop pretending they are grown-ups!


Here we are with Whitney now... She is "due" on the 22nd according to calculations. That is six days from now (including today). I find myself wishing this cria would arrive today, or maybe tomorrow as the weather should be better. Admittedly I am going a bit stir crazy and am ready to leave my post in the kitchen and/or at the computer in the dining room.

Rather than chance losing this post altogether I will close it and post now. For some reason autosave is not able to save it! Lucky me. I will post a follow up later today!
